Wow you must suck with the things them.
I'm not even good at this game yet I'm getting games at 20/2 or better with that thing.
Amarrians always are better with their own technology that heathen scum.
Sorry in hind sight that sounds so condescending and arrogant.
You don't need Proficiency, or the Amarr Assault.
All you need to get the most out of the Laser is a couple of Damage Mods, and a keen sense of timing, since the LR is all about timing and dictating the range of the engagement.
So the laser can be used in a couple key ways, I have seen more but these are the primaries.
But first you have to understand that the laser works over a period of time, doing very little damage on initial contact and that damage builds up progressively more and more as you hold down the trigger to build up heat, reaching damn near insane levels of damage in the last second before it over heats. Also bear in mind the overheat and lock up is insane on this gun, 225 points of damage to you and a 6 second lock down timer. Also the beam has a weak zone, withing say 25m and a outside or say 120+ M
Now the laser can be used in the following ways
Stand ad Deliver- Firing the Laser in the standard manner, focusing on one or two targets, initially wounding targets with the low DPS beams, and finishing them off with the late firing high DPS beam.
Burn and Deliver- Charging the beam against some piece of terrain, with the intent to build up the damage and suddenly kill with high DPS beams your intended target, you usually do this when there is only one target available to shoot, or your target knows where you are and has shots on you, so that you pop out, punch a hole in his face, and duck back into cover.
Staggered Fire- Less common but useful in conjunction with another allied laser rifle. The intent of this beam is to cover a longer period of time firing, but cutting your beams up into second or two second beams. This keeps your personal damage low but lets you firing for as long as you so desire before a reload. Marking, aiding, and finshing enemies in conjuction with your allies.
Since the laser fires a beam you want to be high up on the map, or using a ridgeline to lay down fire over open spaces. Sitting just off of objectives allows you to cover hack points as well. Suggest running a CQC side arm or AScR if you use a commando, and nanohives since ammo goes fast.
